I especially like the comma in "But, not so my newly-developed laser cannon!" In general, the attention paid to punctuation makes for almost as much geekiness as the text itself.
(I would credit this panel if I knew where it came from - Avengers somewhere? I am unable to identify this supervillain)

That's "The Living Laser," an enemy of The Avengers. That panel is probably from this comic. Oh, and your book is totally friggin' awesome. I wish I could make a Champions supplement out of it.
Hey, it totally is! You win a Soon I Will Be Invincible No-Prize. According to wikipedia, "Arthur Parks was a relatively successful laser research scientist until spurned by a woman." Way to show'em, Arthur.
Okay, check this out - the comic you link to - Avengers #35 - is subtitled "The Light That Failed." Someone at Marvel was reading their Kipling.
Oh, and thanks, btw. I played plenty of Champions in junior high, which I guess is not hard to figure out.
(heh... I screwed up the HTML in that last post so I deleted it)
Champions is going to be getting revised again, and will be in its 6th edition.
There's also a Champions MMO coming out that will feature the Champions universe. Sadly, it won't be using HERO System game mechanics to power the physics of it or for character generation.
Oh, and speaking of super powered crimefighters and such, have you ever checked out J.R. DeRego's Union Dues series of short stories?
Saw this on reddit, thought you might get a kick out of it.
