Playing For Keeps in print

Mur Lafferty's Playing For Keeps is now in print from Swarm Press. This was a podcast for much of its life - which I've enjoyed online - and has a great fan following. Now it's in print, and I believe we're ganging up today to boost its Amazon rank, so, jump in!

Ah ha, you did check out Playing for Keeps, then!

It's almost like the opposite of SIWBI, isn't it, in that rather than being about someone trying to prove herself to the in-crowd of established supers, it's follows the lives of the also-rans who have to suck it up across the street in a bar, forever on the outside-looking-in.

One of the things I enjoyed about Playing for Keeps is that the characters, through the course of their adventure, discover that their powers are actually more useful and formidable than they themselves ever would have believed.

I'm so glad you gave Mur's book a shout-out. Finding out that one of my favorite superhero fiction authors is down with one of my other favorites makes my day.

Now, if you were to dig J.R. DeRego, I'd probably faint. Maybe there should be a loose coalition of superhero fiction writers, if for nothing else than moral support.
