Hey, so Girl-Wonder.org is auctioning original artwork and signed books to raise money so it can um continue existing, I guess. I contributed a couple of signed books - it's one easy way for US readers to get a signed copy of the UK paperback, with amazing art by Bryan Hitch of Ultimates, Authority, and everything-else fame.
Girl-Wonder is a collection of sites with a provocative feminist take on superhero comics: interesting discussions of female characters, writers, and artists, plus fandom, diversity issues, and some excellent rants. Aside from being really funny and incisive, they do a great job of balancing a genuine love for superhero comics with an awareness of how appalling the state of mainstream comics never stops being.
Karen Healey of the awesomely titled Girls Read Comics and They're Pissed (part of girl-wonder) did a great review and interview with me.
